About Me
Dr. Gordon Crabtree is a UW Health ophthalmologist who specializes in medical and surgical diseases of the retina and ocular oncology. As an assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, he treats complex problems affecting the back of the eye, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and eye tumors.
Dr. Crabtree trained at Sidney Kimmel Medical College, completed ophthalmology residency at Geisinger Medical Center, and advanced training in retina at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics. He strives to create a calm, unhurried visit, explains imaging and treatment options in plain language, and involves patients and families in every decision. In addition to caring for patients, he participates in clinical trials to improve therapies for retinal disease. From urgent surgical repair to long-term monitoring, his goal is to protect and restore sight with thoughtful, individualized care.
