About Me
Dr. Gerald B. Rosen is an ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical management of corneal disease and cataract surgery at Horizon Eye Care. He treats a wide range of conditions including cataracts, keratoconus, corneal dystrophies, and dry eye, offering advanced procedures such as premium implant cataract surgery, clear lens exchange, and corneal transplants including partial-thickness DMEK and DSEK surgeries.
Dr. Rosen has extensive experience in corneal transplantation and advanced laser and microsurgical techniques. He was the first surgeon in the Charlotte area to perform DMEK partial-thickness cornea transplant surgery and has participated in national clinical trials of corneal transplant surgery. He serves as Medical Director of LifeShare of the Carolinas Eye Bank and previously served on the teaching staff at Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Rosen is comfortable speaking Spanish and enjoys hiking, swimming, and cycling in his free time.
