Dr. Gaston Lacayo

Dr. Gaston O. Lacayo, III is a board-certified, fellowship-trained corneal specialist and ophthalmologist serving patients in the Miami area. He specializes in corneal diseases, cataract surgery, and refractive procedures such as LASIK. Dr. Lacayo treats a wide range of corneal conditions including keratoconus and performs advanced surgical techniques like corneal transplantation, pterygium excision, and laser-assisted cataract surgery with premium intraocular lenses. He is also experienced in corneal collagen crosslinking for keratoconus and post-LASIK ectasia.

In addition to corneal care, Dr. Lacayo provides treatment for glaucoma and diabetic eye disease. He is the Medical Director at Baptist Health Surgery Center and serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine.
