About Me
Dr. Fatima Ahmad is an ophthalmologist who was born and raised in Southern Illinois. She provides comprehensive eye care with a focus on retinal conditions, glaucoma, and cataract management. Her clinical interests include age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and macular edema.
Dr. Ahmad attended Harvard University for her undergraduate studies, graduating magna cum laude in Biochemical Sciences, and earned her M.D. from Harvard Medical School. She completed her ophthalmology training at Wills Eye Hospital, where she conducted research on macular edema following cataract surgery and the use of anti-VEGF medications for age-related macular degeneration.
She has contributed to ophthalmology education as a clinical instructor and as a contributing author for the Wills Eye Manual and the Wills Eye Institute Five Minute Ophthalmology Consult. Dr. Ahmad has been an invited speaker at continuing medical education meetings, sharing her expertise on various ophthalmic topics.
