About Me
Dr. Melih Ustaoglu is a board-certified retina specialist at Highland Retina Associates in Terre Haute, Indiana, providing comprehensive care for retinal conditions. He earned his medical degree from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in Turkey and completed his ophthalmology residency at Haseki Training and Research Hospital in Istanbul, with additional observerships at the University of Tuebingen in Germany and the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Ustaoglu further completed a research fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia and a medical and surgical fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at the University of Louisville. As an active clinician, educator, and researcher, he has contributed extensively to ophthalmology through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international conferences. He holds prestigious certifications as a Fellow of the International Council of Ophthalmology (FICO) and the European Board of Ophthalmology (FEBO), and is a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Turkish Ophthalmological Association.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Ustaoglu enjoys cooking for his family, running, hiking, playing tennis, watching soccer games, and traveling.
