About Me
Dr. Alexander Izad is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreoretinal disease and surgery at Highland Retina Associates in Terre Haute, Indiana. He founded the practice in 2017 with the goal of providing advanced retinal care to an underserved region. Dr. Izad treats a wide range of retinal conditions, including retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and other vitreoretinal disorders. He combines his extensive training from institutions such as the Karolinska Institute, Yale University, and the University of Texas with a commitment to clinical research and patient-centered care.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Izad serves as an adjunct clinical assistant professor of ophthalmology at Indiana University School of Medicine, where he helps train future ophthalmologists. He is an active member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Indiana Academy of Ophthalmology.
