About Me
Dr. Eric J. Del Piero is a fellowship-trained retina and vitreous specialist, board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Born and raised in Monterey County, he obtained a world-class education across America before returning home to treat his neighbors. He has been in private practice as an ophthalmologist in Monterey since 1985 and with Monterey County Eye Associates since 1998.
Dr. Del Piero serves as a University of California, San Francisco clinical instructor at Natividad Medical Center. His leadership includes serving as Past President of the Monterey County Medical Society and on the Board of Trustees of the California Medical Association. His consistently excellent standard of care led his peers to name him Monterey County Physician of the Year in both 2006 and 2007.
Dr. Del Piero ensures his office is outfitted with sophisticated eye surgery technology and can treat virtually any eye problem. He is committed to serving the greater Monterey area with Spanish-speaking staff and financial flexibility to accommodate diverse patient needs.
