Dr. Egbert Saavedra

Dr. Egbert Saavedra is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist dedicated to personalized care in a compassionate setting. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, then completed an internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Virginia, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio.

Dr. Saavedra furthered his expertise through a fellowship in medical and surgical retina at the Wilmer Eye Institute of Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, he has been practicing in Tucson since 2006, offering advanced retinal care. Dr. Saavedra retired in December 2020.
