About Me
Dr. Anthony Joseph is a board-certified vitreoretinal surgeon dedicated to personalized, compassionate care. He treats the full spectrum of medical and surgical retinal disease—from diabetic eye disease and macular degeneration to retinal tears and complex detachments—using advanced imaging, precision laser, anti-VEGF therapies, and microsurgical techniques tailored to each patient.Dr. Joseph studied economics and biology at Stanford University, earned his medical degree at Duke University, and completed a master’s in information science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He finished an internship at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, an ophthalmology residency at the Jules Stein Eye Institute/UCLA, and vitreoretinal fellowship training at the New England Eye Center/Tufts Medical Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He has cared for patients in Southern Arizona since 2021 and welcomes collaborative referrals for both urgent and ongoing retinal conditions.
