Dr. Daliya Dzhaber

Angela Gauthier, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Director of the Cornea Service at Glaucoma-Cataract Consultants. A Maryland native, she graduated summa cum laude from Dartmouth College with an AB in Neuroscience, earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine, and completed ophthalmology residency and a Cornea and External Disease fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. She joined the practice in 2023. Dr. Gauthier diagnoses and treats a wide range of corneal and lens conditions, from refractive errors and cataracts to Fuchs dystrophy and keratoconus. She offers refractive surgery (LASIK/PRK), cataract surgery with standard and premium lenses, IOL exchanges, and iris or scleral-fixated lens solutions. She is experienced with modern corneal transplantation techniques, including DMEK, DSAEK, and PKP, and is committed to individualized care that prioritizes safety, clarity of vision, and long-term ocular health.

Dr. Kenneth J. Taubenslag is a vitreoretinal surgeon and uveitis specialist with the University of Maryland Medical System. He cares for patients with medical and surgical retina conditions and inflammatory eye disease, offering meticulous evaluation, evidence-based treatment, and clear counseling about recovery and long-term care. As an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences, he is committed to teaching and collaborative, multidisciplinary care. Dr. Taubenslag earned his MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and completed an internship with UPMC, ophthalmology residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Vanderbilt Eye Institute. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Patients seen in Baltimore and at the Midtown Campus benefit from his experience with modern retinal imaging, office-based injection therapies, retinal laser, and advanced surgical techniques.

Michael E. Sulewski, MD, is a cornea, cataract and anterior segment surgeon who helps patients restore clarity and comfort when the front of the eye is affected by disease or prior surgery. He performs advanced cataract surgery, manages complex intraocular lens issues and offers the full spectrum of corneal transplantation—including keratoprosthesis—tailoring each procedure to the patient’s goals and ocular health. Dr. Sulewski also provides refractive options and comprehensive care for a wide range of corneal and ocular surface disorders. At the Wilmer Eye Institute, he serves in both clinical and educational roles and is committed to surgical outcomes research that continuously improves patient care. Patients appreciate his direct communication style and thoughtful, step-by-step guidance from evaluation through recovery.
