Dr. Chirag Jhaveri

Dr. Chirag Jhaveri is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in medical and surgical retina care at Retina Consultants of Austin. He provides comprehensive retinal surgery and treatment for patients in the Austin area and surrounding communities. His clinical focus includes complex vitreoretinal diseases as well as common conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.

Dr. Jhaveri completed his undergraduate education at the University of Texas at Austin and earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine. He then undertook internship training at Emory University School of Medicine, followed by residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and Ochsner Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He further advanced his expertise through a fellowship in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery at Northwestern University.

As an integral part of the practice since 2012, Dr. Jhaveri is actively engaged in research aimed at developing new treatments for retinal diseases. He has served as vice chairman of the Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Research Network and participates in numerous clinical trials. His commitment to advancing retinal care is complemented by his fluency in Hindi and Gujarati, allowing him to serve a diverse patient population.
