About Me
Dr. Benjamin V. Guidry is a board-certified ophthalmologist with specialized training in vitreoretinal surgery. He cares for patients with retinal conditions that can threaten vision and works to make evaluation and treatment clear, timely, and tailored to each person’s needs.
He completed medical training at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the University of Mississippi in Jackson, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Guidry then returned to New Orleans for a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Tulane University and the Veterans Affairs hospital. He also maintains an active teaching role with the Tulane Ophthalmology department.
His practice focus includes diagnosing and treating common and complex retinal diseases, and helping patients understand what symptoms mean and when urgent care is needed. He is committed to serving the community he calls home and to providing careful, thorough retinal care.
