About Me

Dr. Amar Mannina is a retina specialist who cares for adults with medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. He provides comprehensive management of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, retinal tears and detachments, and other macular and vitreoretinal conditions. In addition to in-clinic treatments such as anti-VEGF injections and laser therapy, he offers advanced surgical care when needed and works closely with each patient to protect and improve vision. Dr. Mannina completed medical school at Creighton University, followed by ophthalmology residency at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a medical and surgical retina fellowship at the University of Toronto, St. Michael’s Hospital. Board-certified in ophthalmology, he values clear communication, timely care, and shared decision-making so people understand their diagnosis and every available option.
