Dr. Wyatt Messenger

Dr. Jason Hooton is a cornea and external disease specialist who cares for patients with a wide range of corneal conditions, from dry eye and ocular surface disease to corneal infections. He has a special focus on complex cataract surgery and partial-thickness corneal transplantation, using modern techniques to help patients see more clearly and comfortably. Originally from Rexburg, Idaho, Dr. Hooton graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University-Idaho and attended the University of Washington School of Medicine as an Idaho WWAMI student. He completed ophthalmology training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and then pursued fellowship training in Cornea, External Diseases and Refractive Surgery at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. He brings this advanced training to help patients understand their options and feel confident in a clear, step-by-step care plan.

Dr. Brent Betts is a fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cornea and anterior segment disease, helping patients with both medical and surgical solutions. His expertise includes routine and complex cataract surgery, advanced refractive options (including LASIK, PRK, ICL, and refractive lens exchange), anterior segment reconstruction, and a wide range of corneal transplantation procedures tailored to each patient’s needs. Originally from Southern California, Dr. Betts earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Nevada, Reno and his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed ophthalmology residency at Wake Forest University Eye Center, serving as chief resident, and then completed a cornea and refractive surgery fellowship at the University of Utah’s Moran Eye Center. He has presented research nationally and has a strong interest in humanitarian outreach, including training surgeons abroad to help reduce preventable blindness.
