About Me
Dr. William L. Decker is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of vitreo-retinal disease. He offers extensive experience managing diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular hole, and epiretinal membrane, along with other vitreo-retinal disorders.
A native of Houston, Dr. Decker earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, graduating with high honors. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston, followed by a vitreo-retinal and ocular oncology fellowship at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He has lectured and published numerous scientific papers on macular and vitreo-retinal diseases and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Retinal Specialists, and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Decker joined Texas Eye Institute in 1983 and sees patients at the practice’s Southwest Houston, Southeast Houston, and Angleton offices.
