About Me
Dr. Virginia Lolley is a board-certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing medicine since 1998. She earned her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Lolley is dedicated to providing personalized eye care, with a focus on cataract surgery and refractive vision correction. She has been recognized for her excellence by being named one of the Best Doctors of America since 2007 and one of Birmingham's Best Doctors starting in 2016.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Lolley is actively involved in teaching and research. She directs courses in clinical ophthalmology, serves as a career advisor for medical students, and contributes to research projects focused on eye health and cancer treatment. Previously, she served as the Chief of Staff at Callahan Eye Hospital for six years. Dr. Lolley is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
Dr. Lolley takes pride in tailoring each patient's cataract surgery to their specific visual needs and leads the refractive cataract surgery program for UAB residents. She is committed to staying at the forefront of her field to ensure her patients receive the highest quality of care. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, shoe shopping, and spending time in the North Carolina mountains with her family.
