Dr. Carol Rosenstiel

Dr. Carol Rosenstiel is a professor of ophthalmology and the director of the contact lens service at UAB, with a secondary appointment in the UAB School of Optometry. She has been on the faculty since 1992 and focuses her practice on primary eye care with an emphasis in contact lenses. Dr. Rosenstiel sees patients at TriaVision, where she manages a variety of complex eye conditions that require custom contact lens solutions.

With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Rosenstiel specializes in fitting scleral, rigid gas permeable, multi-focal, and astigmatic contact lenses. Her clinical expertise includes treating keratoconus, ocular trauma, corneal transplants, dry eye conditions, aphakia, and other medical conditions that benefit from contact lens treatment. She is an active member of the American Optometric Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Rosenstiel also contributed as an investigator in the 10-year Collaborative Longitudinal Evaluation of Keratoconus study.
