About Me
Dr. Copeland is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in the management and surgery of diseases affecting the retina, vitreous, and macula. He joined Athens Retina Center in 2015 and also serves as the Chief of the EENT division at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, in addition to holding a position on the executive council for the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology.
His medical training includes an undergraduate degree from Duke University, medical school at the Medical College of Georgia, an ophthalmology residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, and a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Wake Forest University. Outside of direct patient care, Dr. Copeland's professional interests include remote retinal imaging, and he has participated in collaborative projects with organizations such as Google and Pursuant Health.
