About Me
Dr. Mohan N. Iyer is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in vitreo-retinal diseases and surgery. He founded Athens Retina Center in 2007 and provides comprehensive care for conditions affecting the retina, vitreous, and macula, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, macular holes, and uveitis. Dr. Iyer is committed to providing compassionate, state-of-the-art care to his patients.
Dr. Iyer has held leadership roles such as chief of the EENT division at Athens Regional Medical Center and currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor at the AU/UGA Medical Partnership. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has authored numerous publications and textbook chapters on retinal diseases.
