About Me
Dr. William J. Carroll is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who cares for patients with diseases of the vitreous and retina. He earned his undergraduate degree with honors from the University of Georgia and completed medical school at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
After medical school, Dr. Carroll completed ophthalmology residency training at the Emory Eye Center and then pursued additional subspecialty training with a two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal diseases at Northwestern University. In practice, he focuses on protecting and restoring vision through careful diagnosis, clear communication, and a personalized approach to care. His clinical work includes evaluation and treatment for retinal conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, floaters and flashes, uveitis, and retinal vascular occlusions, along with retinal procedures and treatments when needed.
