Dr. Victor Gonzalez

Dr. Victor Gonzalez is a vitreoretinal specialist who diagnoses and treats conditions such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy. He has been in practice since 1995 and founded Gulf Coast Eye Institute in 2007, serving the Rio Grande Valley region of Texas. In his practice, Dr. Gonzalez performs retinal surgery and specializes in surgery of the vitreous body of the retina.

Dr. Gonzalez is actively involved in research on blindness prevention and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has established a comprehensive retinal fellowship program that has trained international retina specialists from Latin America. Dr. Gonzalez also serves as a faculty member at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
