About Me
Dr. Sanjeeb Bhandari is an ophthalmic surgeon at the Gulf Coast Eye Institute who specializes in vitreo-retinal disease, its surgery, and research. He cares for conditions like age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and inherited retinal diseases, while also performing cataract surgeries and managing general eye concerns.
Dr. Bhandari earned his medical degree from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Nepal and completed his ophthalmology residency at Tilganga Institute of Ophthalmology. He pursued further clinical training at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom, a PhD in retinal disease outcomes from the University of Sydney, and specialized in retinal diseases and uveitis at the National Eye Institute/National Institutes of Health in Maryland.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, EURETINA, and the Nepalese Ophthalmic Society, having contributed to numerous publications and presentations. Dr. Bhandari speaks English, Nepali, and Hindi and enjoys family time and reading.
