About Me
Dr. Timothy Cleland is a board-certified ophthalmologist and retina specialist who serves as co-founder and President of Retina Associates of South Texas. He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, and intraocular tumors. Dr. Cleland performs vitrectomy and other advanced vitreo-retinal surgical procedures.
Dr. Cleland holds an academic appointment as clinical associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is a member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists and continues to research and study new techniques and procedures in vitreo-retinal surgery to ensure the best quality service for his patients.
Dr. Cleland completed his medical degree at Texas Tech University, followed by residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery at the Oschner Clinic in New Orleans.
