About Me

Dr. Thomas Joseph Wubben is a retina specialist who evaluates and treats conditions affecting the back of the eye, where light is converted into vision. His clinical work includes care for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and macular edema, as well as inherited retinal disorders.

Dr. Wubben completed medical school at the University of Illinois at Chicago (2013) and ophthalmology residency training at the University of Michigan in Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences (2017). He then completed a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center (2019). Patients may see Dr. Wubben for both urgent retina problems, such as a detached retina, and ongoing management of chronic retinal disease. He focuses on clear communication and helping patients understand how diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment options fit into an overall plan to protect vision.
