About Me
Dr. Thomas A. Woltjer is a fellowship-trained vitreo-retinal specialist certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Ophthalmology. He provides evaluation and treatment for conditions affecting the retina and vitreous, using detailed diagnostic testing to help patients understand the cause of visual changes and the options available for care.
Dr. Woltjer earned his undergraduate degree from South Dakota State University and attended Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an ophthalmology residency at Oklahoma State University Medical Center and then pursued a Vitreo-Retinal Surgery fellowship at Albany Medical Center/Retinal Consultants. He has participated in clinical trials involving wet age-related macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, reflecting a commitment to evidence-based care and ongoing advances in retinal treatment. He joined Vitreo-Retinal Consultants and Surgeons in 2024.
