About Me
Dr. Tatyana Metelitsina is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon who specializes in retinal conditions and macular degeneration. She completed her medical degree with honors at Odessa State Medical University in Ukraine and pursued advanced ophthalmology training in the United States, including a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Retina Consultants, Ltd. in the Chicago area.
Her clinical practice focuses on age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other retinal diseases. Dr. Metelitsina is actively involved in research, having authored numerous articles on choroidal blood flow and retinal conditions, and she regularly presents at national ophthalmology conferences. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retinal Specialists.
Dr. Metelitsina sees patients at the Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Carbondale, Illinois offices. She is typically available for appointments in Cape Girardeau on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Friday, and in Carbondale every Monday. Surgical procedures are performed at St. Francis Medical Center.
