About Me
Dr. David Westrich is a vitreoretinal specialist serving patients in Cape Girardeau and Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He returned to his hometown after completing his medical training and vitreoretinal surgery fellowship, becoming the first full-time retinal specialist in the Cape Girardeau area. Dr. Westrich founded Cape Retinal Surgery Center in 1991, which later expanded into Eye Care Specialists, a practice offering a range of ophthalmology services.
Dr. Westrich diagnoses and manages conditions affecting the vitreous, macula, and retina, including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vein occlusion, and retinal holes, tears, and detachments. He performs surgery at St. Francis Medical Center and sees patients at the Cape Girardeau office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and alternating Thursdays and Fridays. Dr. Westrich is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
