About Me
Dr. Talya Kupin is a board-certified ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist who founded and serves as the medical director of Glaucoma Specialists of South Florida. She is nationally and internationally recognized for her expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma, with a focus on laser treatments for both open and closed angle glaucoma. In addition to glaucoma, she provides comprehensive eye care, including management of dry eye syndrome, corneal diseases, and retinal conditions.
Dr. Kupin completed her undergraduate and medical education with honors at the University of Michigan. She then undertook an internship at Henry Ford Health Sciences Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Hospitals. She further specialized through a glaucoma fellowship at the Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University. After her fellowship, she returned to Henry Ford Health Sciences Center as a senior staff faculty member, where she taught and supervised ophthalmology residents for six years.
Dr. Kupin is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society. She has contributed to the field as a principal investigator in glaucoma clinical trials and has authored peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, and a book chapter. Her research has been presented at national and international ophthalmology meetings.
