Dr. Talia Shoshany

Dr. Brian Hafler is a vitreoretinal specialist at Yale who cares for people with complex retinal disease, including age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal degenerations. As Director of the Inherited Retinal Disorders Service, he oversees advanced ophthalmic electrophysiology testing and collaborates across specialties to deliver precise diagnoses and thoughtful treatment plans. Dr. Hafler graduated magna cum laude from Princeton University, then earned his MD and PhD at Harvard Medical School. He completed ophthalmology residency at Yale School of Medicine/Yale–New Haven Hospital and a retina fellowship at Massachusetts Eye and Ear as a Heed Fellow. In the lab, his team helped build a single-cell human retinal transcriptomic atlas to identify cell types driving macular degeneration, with the goal of translating discoveries into new therapies. His recognitions include the American Society for Clinical Investigation Young Physician Scientist Award, the Thome Memorial Foundation Award for AMD Research, the William R. Dr. Inna Grishkan Stroh is a uveitis specialist and cataract/anterior segment surgeon who helps patients navigate the full spectrum of ocular inflammatory disease. She provides careful diagnosis and longitudinal management for infectious and noninfectious uveitis and partners closely with retina, rheumatology, and infectious disease colleagues as needed. In surgery, Dr. Stroh focuses on restoring visual quality in challenging cases, including complex cataracts and secondary intraocular lens problems. Dr. Stroh completed residency at the Wilmer Eye Institute, The Johns Hopkins Hospital, and advanced fellowship training in uveitis at the John A. Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah. She earned both her MD and PhD from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and studied Biological Chemistry and Russian at Boston College. Dr. Rachel H. Lee is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery at Consulting Ophthalmologists, PC. She welcomes patients for routine eye exams, cataract consultations, and evaluation and management of glaucoma. Dr. Lee explains findings in plain language and works with patients to align treatment with daily needs, from drops and laser to surgery when appropriate. After graduating summa cum laude from Yale College, Dr. Lee earned her medical degree at Stanford School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics at Columbia University. She completed ophthalmology residency at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and a glaucoma fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Before returning to Connecticut in 2024, she served as an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
