Dr. Tad Schoedel

Dr. Tad D. Schoedel is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery and glaucoma. He is dedicated to providing personalized care for patients with these conditions, emphasizing enduring relationships and tailored treatment plans. His approach involves evaluating each patient individually to determine the best course of action, blending academic knowledge with practical application.

Dr. Schoedel grew up in Colorado and developed a passion for surgery and ophthalmology during medical school. He chose to practice in Roanoke, Virginia, due to the significant need for glaucoma care in the area and his appreciation for the community's quality of life. He values the opportunity to establish long-term connections with his patients and adapts his treatments to their unique needs.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Schoedel is an Eagle Scout, a former Division I middle-distance runner, and enjoys woodworking, metalworking, and building bicycles. He has even ridden one of his own bikes across the country. He looks forward to continuing his service to the southwest Virginia community both professionally and personally.
