About Me
Dr. James Paauw is an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery. He is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has been practicing medicine since 2010. Dr. Paauw completed his glaucoma fellowship at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, a leading center for ophthalmic care and research.
His medical degree was earned at the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor, where he graduated with distinction in research. He then completed a general surgery internship and an ophthalmology residency through Texas A&M. Dr. Paauw is actively involved in research and education, having served as co-editor of Career Physician Briefings in Ophthalmology and as chief resident during his training. He has also participated in multiple ophthalmology mission trips to Mexico, Kenya, and Haiti.
