Meet Dr. Steven Mortenson
About Me
Dr. Steve Mortenson, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist who offers comprehensive eye exams and treats a wide range of eye conditions. His expertise includes cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eyes, allergies, eye injuries, eyelid abnormalities, blepharospasm (hemifacial spasm), and double vision. He has performed over 10,000 procedures, including cataract surgery, laser treatments, eyelid surgeries, and Botox injections.
Dr. Mortenson graduated Magna Cum Laude from Utah State University and earned his MD from the University of Utah School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Honor Society. He completed his internship and residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Utah. He served as an ophthalmologist in the United States Air Force, including a role as Chief of Ophthalmology at Luke Air Force Base, before beginning his private practice in Prescott.
Dr. Mortenson is a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a former President of the Arizona Ophthalmological Association. He volunteers with the Arizona Mobile Eye Unit, providing eye care to underserved communities across Arizona, and serves on the Mel Clack Advisory Committee, which supports eye care for underprivileged residents of Yavapai County. Originally from Logan, Utah, Dr. Mortenson is married to Wendy, and together they have five children.
