Dr. Steven Unterman

Dr. Steven R. Unterman is an ophthalmologist at MidAmerica Eye Center, specializing in diseases and surgery of the cornea. He provides comprehensive eye care including treatment for corneal conditions, cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and LASIK surgery. Patients can expect expert care for a wide range of vision needs.

Dr. Unterman earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago and his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma. He completed his residency in ophthalmology and advanced eye surgery training at the University of Kansas Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in cornea diseases and surgery at the Louisiana State University Eye Center. Dr. Unterman is married to Ellen and has two daughters; in his spare time he enjoys restoring sports cars. He will retire on March 18, 2026.
