About Me
Dr. Joseph J. Parelman is a board-certified ophthalmologist dedicated to providing precise medical care that improves eye health. He serves the Prairie Village community and stays current with the latest technologies and treatments. Dr. Parelman has a strong background in corneal transplantation, external eye diseases, and refractive surgery.
After earning his medical degree from Duke University School of Medicine, Dr. Parelman completed an internal medicine internship and an ophthalmology residency. He then pursued a fellowship at Louisiana State University Eye Center, where he specialized in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery and contributed to early LASIK laser research.
Dr. Parelman is also committed to medical education. He currently serves on the volunteer teaching faculty in ophthalmology at the University of Kansas Medical School and previously directed residency training at Washington University School of Medicine.
