About Me
Dr. Steven Thornquist is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus, commonly known as eye turns. He provides care for children with various eye conditions and adults with alignment disorders. His training includes an undergraduate degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society.
Dr. Thornquist completed an internal medicine residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at the Scheie Eye Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. He then pursued a pediatric ophthalmology fellowship at Temple University and St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has been recertified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Thornquist is actively involved in organized medicine, having served in leadership roles with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Connecticut Society of Eye Physicians, and the Connecticut State Medical Society. He also holds a clinical instructor appointment at Yale School of Medicine.
