About Me
Dr. Stanley S.K. Park is an ophthalmologist specializing in retinal health, who brings a compassionate and dedicated approach to patient care. His journey into medicine began after founding Project Nicaragua, a non-profit where he helped build a local school and clinic, realizing the greater impact he could have as a physician. This experience fuels his commitment to providing quality care and keeping patients safe and comfortable.
As a Retina Fellow at the Dean McGee Eye Institute, one of the largest ophthalmology institutes in the U.S., Dr. Park is focused on mastering retina surgery under the guidance of Dr. Vinay Shah. He is passionate about the retina, describing it as a microscopic layer of brain tissue responsible for vision, and he is excited to work alongside clinician-scientists studying cures for rare diseases like retinitis pigmentosa and uveitis.
Dr. Park commonly diagnoses and treats conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, epiretinal membranes, retinal tears, and detachments. He advises patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle with regular exercise and a balanced diet, and stresses the importance of annual eye exams. In case of sudden vision loss, flashes, floaters, or a dark curtain in side vision, he urges immediate evaluation, leveraging DMEI's 24-hour emergency eye service. Outside of medicine, he enjoys staying active with Orange Theory Fitness, swimming, and hot yoga, and is an avid sports fan.
