Dr. Sara Mullins

Dr. Sara M. Mullins is an ophthalmologist at Eye Specialists of Birmingham, a family-owned practice with a legacy of eye care spanning generations. She joined the practice in 2018, becoming a partner with Dr. Stephen J. Kelly to continue the tradition of personalized, comprehensive eye care. Dr. Mullins is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and brings a dedicated, patient-centered approach to treating a wide range of eye conditions.

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Mullins completed her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University and earned her medical degree at LSU Health Science Center in Shreveport. She then pursued her ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she served as chief resident. Her training at these esteemed institutions has equipped her with the expertise to manage both routine and complex eye health needs.

Dr. Mullins practices general ophthalmology, providing thorough eye exams and managing conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease.
