About Me
Dr. Samir Vira is a board-certified ophthalmologist with fellowship training in corneal disease and refractive surgery, including LASIK. He specializes in cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, and various refractive procedures to improve patient vision.
He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia after completing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Vira completed a competitive internship at Evanston Northwestern Hospital, followed by an ophthalmology residency at Loyola University Medical Center and a fellowship in cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery at the Emory Eye Center.
His commitment to the field is recognized through awards such as the Chicago Ophthalmological Society’s Beem Fisher Research Award. Dr. Vira focuses on personalized patient care for conditions like cataracts, corneal diseases, and refractive errors.
