Dr. Ryan Otsuka

Dr. Ryan Otsuka is a board-certified general ophthalmologist in Honolulu, Hawaii, where he cares for patients at Otsuka Eye Care. His practice is built around an “ohana” approach—taking time to listen, explain findings clearly, and help you feel comfortable at every visit.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Otsuka returned home after completing his training. He completed undergraduate studies at Northwestern University, attended medical school at the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine, and finished his ophthalmology residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Otsuka provides a full range of eye care, from comprehensive eye exams and prescription updates to treatment planning for cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye, and urgent eye concerns. He also evaluates new floaters and symptoms that may signal retinal tears or detachment so patients can get timely guidance and care.
