About Me

Dr. Roger Goldberg is a board-certified ophthalmologist who specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. He completed his residency at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami and then returned to Boston for a fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Tufts and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. He is an active member of the American Society of Retinal Specialists, the Retina Society, and the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Goldberg has been an investigator in over 30 clinical trials for conditions such as age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and diabetic retinopathy. He has published numerous research manuscripts and book chapters in leading journals. His surgical expertise includes macular surgery, complex retinal detachment repair, and managing complications of cataract surgery.

In addition to his medical training, Dr. Goldberg earned an MBA from Yale University and co-founded an ophthalmic startup. He spent a year as a Rotary Scholar at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands and worked as a healthcare consultant before his medical career. He now practices in the Bay Area, where he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family.
