About Me
Dr. Melissa Neuwelt is an ophthalmologist and eye surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric retina disease. She is dedicated to preserving and protecting her patients' vision, which she recognizes as crucial to their quality of life. Her approach combines a passion for the precision of microsurgery with the latest effective treatments for retina conditions.
Dr. Neuwelt completed her medical education at UCSF and served as a co-Chief resident at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, followed by a retina surgery fellowship at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, she was on faculty at UCSF, where she trained future ophthalmologists in managing retina diseases. She brings years of specialized experience to her practice, focusing on building strong patient relationships.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys spending time with her two children, outdoor activities, travel, and marathon training. Dr. Neuwelt values the connections she makes with her patients and looks forward to providing compassionate care.
