About Me

Dr. Robert W. Bjerregaard is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. Born and raised in Wisconsin, he studied biomedical engineering at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before earning his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed an internship in Hawaii, an ophthalmology residency at the Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, and advanced fellowship training in corneal transplantation and refractive surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Bjerregaard provides comprehensive surgical and medical eye care with a focus on cataract surgery using advanced technology lenses, laser vision correction, and partial- and full-thickness corneal transplant techniques. He also treats glaucoma and diabetic and other retinal conditions in close coordination with patients’ primary care and referring eye doctors. Patients value his clear communication, conservative, safety-first approach, and steady hands in the operating room. Outside of work he enjoys traveling, waterskiing, tennis, and time with his family.
