About Me
Dr. Richard T. Atallah is a fellowship-trained cornea and external disease specialist who provides comprehensive, patient-centered eye care with a focus on restoring clarity and comfort to the ocular surface. His approach combines precise diagnostics, modern microsurgical techniques, and clear communication so patients understand their options and feel supported at every step. He offers advanced care for keratoconus, corneal infections and scarring, and complex anterior segment conditions, and he partners closely with optometrists and co-managing surgeons to optimize outcomes after corneal and cataract procedures.
Dr. Atallah completed medical school at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, ophthalmology residency at SUNY Downstate, and a cornea fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. In addition to corneal transplantation and refractive surgery, he enjoys helping patients with dry eye and other ocular surface disorders return to comfortable vision. His clinical philosophy emphasizes individualized treatment plans—whether medical therapy, laser procedures, or surgery—tailored to patients’ goals and lifestyles.
