Meet Dr. Masako Chen

Dr. Masako Chen, MD is a board-certified, fellowship-trained cornea, external disease, and refractive surgeon. She performs LASIK, PRK, and ICL procedures; cataract surgery including laser-assisted techniques; ocular surface reconstruction; pterygium excision; and corneal transplantation (DMEK/DSAEK/PK). Her approach blends technical precision with clear communication so patients understand their options and recovery every step of the way.

Dr. Chen completed ophthalmology residency at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai, serving as chief resident and earning the Austin T. Gray Memorial Scholarship Award, followed by fellowship training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Cornea, External Diseases, and Refractive Surgery. She serves as Associate Residency Program Director and Director of the Comprehensive Eye Clinic at NYEE and was recognized as a United Hospital Fund Quality Improvement Champion in 2023. Dr. Chen is dedicated to patient-centered care and education, helping each person choose the safest, most effective path to better vision.
