About Me
Dr. Richard S. Witlin is an ophthalmologist at the Witlin Center for Advanced Eye Care in East Brunswick and Toms River, New Jersey. He is a pioneer in refractive surgery, having performed the first radial keratotomy in central New Jersey in 1981 and later adopting PRK and LASIK after FDA approval. With extensive experience, Dr. Witlin has performed thousands of LASIK and cataract procedures.
A board-certified ophthalmic microsurgeon, Dr. Witlin earned his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Albany Medical Center Hospital, where he served as chief resident. He maintains faculty appointments at Wills Eye Hospital and the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and established the Witlin Center for Advanced Eye Care in 1998, focusing on refractive surgery and sutureless cataract microsurgery.
