Meet Dr. Raquel Goldhardt
About Me
Dr. Raquel Goldhardt is a cataract surgeon, medical retina, and uveitis specialist with extensive surgical and clinical experience. She manages complex conditions such as complicated cataract surgery, infectious and inflammatory eye diseases, and retinal pathologies including macular degeneration, vein occlusions, and diabetic retinopathy.
Dr. Goldhardt is actively involved in physician education and has served on inclusion, diversity, admission, and executive committees at the University of Miami Medical School. She leads international mission trips to South America, Mexico, and China, providing care and education for over a decade.
Her research focuses on novel imaging techniques for macular degeneration, Stargardt’s disease, and corneal nerves in patients receiving anti-VEGF injections. She also investigates biomarkers of ocular Gulf War illness and was the first to describe posterior subhyaloid precipitates associated with cytomegalovirus retinitis.
