About Me
Dr. Brian Evan Goldhagen is a retina specialist and Associate Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology who treats the full range of retina and vitreous disorders. His expertise includes age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal vascular occlusions, and complex macular disease, supported by advanced diagnostic imaging such as optical coherence tomography (OCT). Patients value his clear communication and methodical, evidence-based approach to protecting and restoring sight.
Dr. Goldhagen completed a Retina/Vitreous fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute after ophthalmology residency at Duke University; he earned his medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine. He partners closely with referring doctors and families to design individualized care plans that may include observation, medications and injections, laser, or surgery when needed. His goal is to provide compassionate, state-of-the-art care that helps each patient make confident decisions about their vision.
