About Me
Rachel Schneider, M.D., is a fellowship-trained, board-certified ophthalmologist at Virginia Eye Consultants, specializing in advanced eye surgeries such as refractive cataract surgery, standard cataract surgery, clear lens exchange, ICL, LASIK, PRK, ocular surface reconstruction, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery. She is dedicated to providing individualized care using the most technologically advanced techniques to achieve the best possible outcomes for her patients.
Dr. Schneider earned her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College, where she graduated Cum Laude and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Tulane University and additional fellowship training in Advanced Anterior Segment Surgery at the Eye Institute of West Florida. Previously, she practiced comprehensive ophthalmology in Knoxville, Tennessee, and volunteered with Remote Area Medical to provide eye care to underserved communities.
Committed to advancing ophthalmology, Dr. Schneider is active in research and focuses on patient-centered care. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising, trying new restaurants, and traveling.
