About Me
Dr. Rachel Niknam is an ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract care. She provides medical and surgical management of glaucoma, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), glaucoma lasers, and non-surgical treatment options. She also performs advanced technology cataract surgery and manages a range of ocular diseases.
Dr. Niknam serves as a Clinical and Surgical Professor of Ophthalmology at Wills Eye Hospital and is an Assistant Professor at Sidney Kimmel Medical College. She is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and the American Glaucoma Society, and is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Her training includes a glaucoma fellowship at the Scheie Eye Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, an ophthalmology residency at Hahnemann University Hospital at Drexel University, and an internship at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
