Dr. Philip Cheng

Dr. Philip Cheng is an ophthalmologist who offers cataract surgery, laser vision correction, and modern glaucoma care. Dr. Cheng completed dual degrees in Biochemistry and Economics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill before entering the Medical Scientist Training Program at UT Southwestern, where he earned both his M.D. and Ph.D. He then completed an internship at Dell Medical School in Austin and returned to UT Southwestern for ophthalmology residency. At Texas Vision, he treats a wide range of conditions—from dry eye and diabetic eye disease to complex cataracts—and works closely with co-managing optometrists across Central Texas to streamline care.
